We started Hive & Co at Glebe Markets in March 2022. The idea was simple: buy directly from small beekeepers who were producing exceptional honey but had no way to reach customers outside of farmers' markets and farm gates.
That first Saturday we sold out in two hours. The second week we brought twice as much. Same result. By the end of that year we were doing Glebe and Marrickville Markets every weekend and building a waiting list for online orders.
We're now online and shipping across Australia. Our honey comes from a network of independent beekeepers across NSW — people who've been managing hives for decades and care deeply about the land and the bees. We visit every producer. We taste every batch before it goes into a jar.
Our plan for the next year is to get into a small number of quality food stores in Sydney and Melbourne, and to start exploring the UK market. Australian Manuka is starting to get serious attention in the UK and we think the timing is right.
